Learning Science Through Golf

Science_STEM_GolfAt The First Tee, we are focused on encouraging youth to succeed. We believe engaging in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), provides youth with new opportunities and career paths.

USGA’s STEM expertise is increasingly relevant and touches on every aspect of golf, including a greater understanding of science and environmental stewardship.

At the inaugural USGA “Learning Science Through Golf” STEM Academy, teenagers will experience hands-on access to the USGA Research & Test Center, a facility that houses both specialized golf club and ball testing equipment. Participants will learn from highly educated and skilled individuals whose work is focused on understanding the game’s technology and new equipment’s potential effect upon the game.
