There are many organizations, public and private, that respect the values golf can teach kids. Our allied organizations have provided The First Tee with guidance and support in a variety of ways.

America’s Promise Alliance

Founded in 1997, the Alliance is made up of nonprofit groups, corporations, community leaders, charitable foundations, policymakers, faith-based organizations, individuals and others that believe children must have access to fundamental education, life and health resources to succeed at home, in school and in the community. The Alliance identifies Five Promises which serve as a guidepost to focus and help the nation’s at-risk youth experience healthier and more productive lives:

  1. Caring adults who are actively involved as parents, teachers, mentors, coaches and neighbors
  2. Safe places that offer constructive use of time
  3. A healthy start and healthy development
  4. Effective education that builds marketable skills
  5. Opportunities to help others by making a difference through service
