If you were to ask Nicole Polivchak how she was preparing to play Pebble Beach, she would probably give you an impressive list of golf courses she has played around the world. Nicole, who is one of 81 participants from The First Tee competing in the Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, is no stranger to playing golf in unique and legendary locations. Her resume includes courses in Poland, South Africa, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Iceland, England and Wales.
Coming from a Polish family on her mother’s side, Nicole grew up playing golf in Poland during visits with her family. It was here where she practiced, took lessons and improved her golf game all while competing in junior tournaments around the country. Two years ago, Nicole was offered a spot on the Polish National Team and has represented Poland in international tournaments giving her the incredible opportunity to travel the world playing golf.
Playing in each of these locations requires unique preparation. Nicole, a participant at The First Tee of Sarasota/Manatee, says that The First Tee Nine Core Value that she has used the most is judgment.
“I truly believe that my experiences playing in such different environments will help me be prepared for Pebble Beach. It will help me take on whatever the course brings. I look forward to playing in another beautiful place in the world,” Nicole said.
After Pebble Beach, she plans to go to college and one day turn pro and represent Poland in the 2020 Olympics.
