Participant, The First Tee of Fort Worth
The Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach.
The pinnacle for participants at The First Tee.
There are few times in life where I have found myself speechless (anyone that knows or has met me can enthusiastically attest to that), but I can’t count how many times I have been speechless in the past 24 hours.
The whole experience has been surreal.
The views are breathtaking.
The courses are in perfect shape.
The bubbling enthusiasm of all the other participants is contagious.
Last night, we had a guest speaker for our orientation dinner, alumnus Beau Zastrow, and he emphasized how important it is to have fun and cherish every moment we have out at the Nature Valley First Tee Open Pebble Beach. I’ve found out that is not hard to do when you’re here.
When I first saw the ocean from the course, I was “like a love struck eighth grader” as quoted by my wonderful mentor and caddie, Richard Best. I couldn’t stop giggling or smiling, the view is just THAT amazing. Pictures are fantastic, but they can’t come close to creating the emotional reaction you get from experiencing Pebble Beach in person.
So far, the whole experience has been more than I could have dreamed of and I’m looking forward to every experience I will have throughout the rest of this week. I’ve tried my best to live in the moment, and right now, the moment is amazing.
