We were then escorted to Studio A where we met the producer as well as the host Charlie Rymer. While being hooked up with microphones, Mr. Rymer and the producer kept an incredible secret from Cameron and me…
“You guys are going to the Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach!” Mr. Rymer’s emotional announcement of the news that Cameron and I were accepted into the First Tee Nature Valley Open at Pebble Beach had us completely surprised and extremely excited! When he told us, I got goose bumps, my heart skipped a beat and I forgot to breathe! Being told I was accepted into the tournament, while at the live taping of Morning Drive, by Mr. Rymer was one of the best moments in my life and one I will never forget!
The first person I shared my accomplishment with was my parents because they encouraged me to start the game of golf four years ago. My parents were so happy, excited and proud of me. It was truly an emotional but proud moment that I was fortunate enough to share with my entire family.
I’m looking forward to meeting some incredible people and mentors; seeing and playing on of golf’s greatest courses; and meeting the other 80 junior golfers from across The First Tee network.
I would like to thank my local chapter, The First Tee of the Palm Beaches, for encouraging and guiding me though life and golf. I am honored to represent my fellow coaches, board members and directors as they have given me the best opportunity in my life so far. My coach and mentor, Craig Watson, has put his time and effort into my golf swing and shaping me into the person I am today. I would also like to thank my family, friends and local community as you all have taught me so much. And of course The First Tee home office staff who work incredibly hard to give participants so many wonderful opportunities that impact so many young people.
