Wells Fargo and The First Tee are proud to announce the winners from Succeeding Together–a video essay contest that celebrates the value of building relationships as a foundation for success in life. The grand prize winner will play alongside PGA TOUR professional and 2010 Wells Fargo Championship winner Rory McIlroy!
Created by Wells Fargo specifically for teen participants of The First Tee, the 2014 Wells Fargo Succeeding Together contest offered junior golfers the chance to celebrate a coach or mentor in their lives. Through video essays, participants from chapters across the country shared inspiring stories of how a person and the core values of The First Tee have positively affected their lives and helped them achieve their goals.
Congratulations to the winners of the 2014 Wells Fargo Succeeding Together℠ contest!
Grand Prize – Alejandra Ayala from The First Tee of Atlanta
First Prize – Caroline Cole from The First Tee of Charlotte
First Prize – Jack Kane from The First Tee of Connecticut
First Prize – Maxwell Turnquist from The First Tee of Yakima
These four deserving winners each won a trip to this year’s Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte, NC. The grand prize winner, Alejandra Ayala from The First Tee of Atlanta, has the unique experience of playing in the Wells Fargo Championship pro-am tournament alongside PGA TOUR professional and 2010 Wells Fargo Championship winner Rory McIlroy!
In addition to the video contest, Wells Fargo is hosting a series of Succeeding Together ℠ events at select chapters of The First Tee. The events continue with the theme of celebrating a coach or mentor in the lives of youth—something The First Tee provides to tens of thousands of youth across the country.
At each event, PGA TOUR pros like Scott Langley and J.J. Henry, visit with young golfers, sharing stories about a coach that had a significant impact on their life, reading books and leading an interactive golf skills clinic.
The Succeeding Together chapter events are held in conjunction with major PGA TOUR tournaments in the following cities:
- Orlando, FL (Arnold Palmer Invitational)
- Charlotte, NC (Wells Fargo Championship)
- Dallas, TX (Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial)
- Des Moines, IA (Principal Charity Classic, presented by Wells Fargo)
- Pinehurst, NC (2014 U.S. Women’s Open Championship)
Thank you to Wells Fargo for this amazing opportunity for our junior golfers and for its dedication to recognizing the value of relationships and how we can achieve great things by working together—in the classroom, on the golf course and in our communities.
